this is the design i like
http://nassz.deviantart.com/art/Eye-Of-Horus-121576142
without the wings of course
i did some research and the designs that i like are:
eye of horus
ankh
gecko

i want to get it in a place that i will be able to see it
i want it to be relatively small maybe max of 4 inches

i have a small 2 inch tattoo its a kanji for strenght on the back of my neck

do you have any ideas ???
and another one i dont know if this has something to do with good luck but this is koi fish:
http://bettieboner.deviantart.com/art/Little-koi-29787350
maybe its more of a symbol for success
im white caucasian
and i do like to lay in the sun but i dont tan very often
i found this info on vanishingtattoo.com there was a list of good luck symbol tattoos

Well I may be wrong here, but I've never heard of an Ankh or an Eye of Horus as being good luck symbols. The Ankh I believe is the symbol of life and the Eye of Horus, I thought, was more a symbol of protection or related to lunar cycles? I don't know, I'm presuming you've done your research so hopefully you'll know more than me.

I know the gecko is a traditional good luck symbol and honestly I think out of those, this would look the best anyway. The other two are very overdone, and personally I love how the Eye of Horus looks on paper but almost every time I see one as a tattoo on its own I don't think it looks great. And I've never found ankhs amazing, visually. But that's just me.

As for the koi, yes I believe this is traditionally more a symbol of courage and strength.

Why don't you stop focussing on traditional symbols and start thinking about what image you'd actually like on your skin? Really, what does it matter what some website says it means? It's clear you're already confused over it because of this limitation you're setting yourself. Why don't you just take your mind off traditional (and often unreliable and questionable) symbols and start thinking about aesthetics. What would you like to be looking at whenever you look at your wrist or whatever for the rest of your life? Which of those designs do you prefer the look of, or perhaps something new all together? Well who's to say that can't mean good luck to you? Just because there might not be a website saying it does yet - go out and set up a website! These things all start out with one person deciding what something means, however far back into history it goes. But how much of that is honestly relevant. You can make anything mean anything you want. And good luck charms can be anything - I used to have a lucky hand mirror for exams when I was at school, I'm pretty sure that's not a traditional symbol, but it still meant good luck to me!

And I would also suggest giving this a bit more thought before getting it done. You're nowhere near a decision yet and Tuesday is soon to be getting something even if you are already decided. But to rush into it this quickly is a little foolish - take your time and protect yourself against regret as best as you can. Good luck!

*******
Looking at one website doesn't really amount to research. I'm just being honest. I just had a look at the lucky tattoo symbols page and I see that for some reason it lists the ankh and the eye of horus. But have you actually clicked and read about each one properly?
Ankh:- http://www.vanishingtattoo.com/tattoos_designs_symbols_ankh.htm - unless I'm completely blind, the full explanation doesn't mention good luck, rather life/eternal life. The closest thing is where it mentions it was sometimes worn as an amulet for protection, which is not really the same thing.
Eye of Horus:- http://www.vanishingtattoo.com/tattoos_designs_symbols_eye_of_horus.htm - again. Royal power, indestructibility, rebirth. No mention of good luck.

This just goes to prove the point I was trying to make. One minute something can mean one thing but then you read a different description and it can mean something else. You're relying on the account of people you don't know. People who write websites like that, even wikipedia you know, they're just normal people with a hobby. They're not professional historians. Why not just come up with your own good luck symbol? Something that you happen to find most aesthetically pleasing, as a bonus. Look at your own life, try and draw imagery from that.
